Falcon Wireless Newsletter . Good news for those we serve!

Greetings!

August was another great month for us! We attended the summer conference of the Alabama Police Chief's conference in Auburn, Alabama with a great reception and much interest in our new offerings in law enforcement communications.

As many of our readers know, we average several visits per week to county fire association meetings throughout the state of Alabama and in some cases in other states as well. Many of the host departments will serve meals at these functions. Some offer outstanding meals. This month's golden fork award goes to the Shottsville VFD for serving the best meal we've ever had, anywhere, ever. Thanks guys. Your ARE appreciated!

  • Introducing GridPage!
    .
During the 90's many public safety agencies signed up with Arch Paging, and to a lesser extent with MetroCall and PageNet, to provide paging services. The concept was good. The service was inexpensive and served both departmental and personal uses.

There was a problem with message delivery times with pages being received up to fifteen minutes after they were sent coupled with the fact the I.S.O. did not (and still does not) recognize paging systems that are not privately owned. The service offered by these public carriers has deteriorated as their financial misfortunes have intensified.

Fortunately, there is an alternative that provides high- speed message delivery and DOES meet I.S.O. requirements. It's called GridPage! A local area version is also available for use by church nursery users, hospitals, manufacturing plants, and others who need high speed airtime free paging.

    Canopy revisited
    .
One of our newer products is Canopy, a wide area broadband distribution system. The most common use is for making high speed Internet access available in rural areas. By making high speed Internet access available to rural fire departments, we can offer a variety of services to enhance overall capabilities.

Notably, the network can be used to support IP based telephone service (See VoiceGlo below). Remote premise monitoring with low cost IP based cameras as well as mobile data terminal use can be shared by all public safety agencies as well as utility boards, schools, and other agencies.

High speed Internet connection will provide the means to do on-line reporting of EMS calls as well as a variety of other functions. In some cases, Canopy can be installed purely as an additional revenue generator as is the case with a municipal water works authority who is currently considering offering high speed Internet to their customers.

Elimination of costly leased phone or fiber circuits is another capability of Canopy. Click on the link below for more information, or if you prefer, call us for more information at 1-800-489-2611.

    New Communications Planner
    .
The majority of those we serve are primarily involved in public safety activities with the largest number being involved in fire and rescue activities. More recently, our law enforcement users have been most interested in high tech mobile data terminals, voice encryption terminals and GPS vehicle tracking. While we make every effort to stay on top of cutting edge technology, the core foundation of our business is communications.

Accordingly, we have a primary responsibility to provide all of our customers and potential customers with much needed information to assist in making the right equipment choices and planning for the future while minimizing down time and replacement costs. For that reason, we prepared a Communications Planner primarily for fire and rescue users but equally applicable for law enforcement, EMA, and 911 planning.

In addition to public safety, we serve churches, healthcare, institutional, and manufacturing users worldwide. If you have the responsibility for making the right choices in wireless private communications, we think you will benefit by reviewing our Communications Planner. We will show you how to determine true value versus low price.

I personally invite you to get your copy. It's as easy as clicking on the link below and following the simple instructions. Tracy Teague - At your service!

Does this look like YOUR radio?
We recently received the radio shown above from one of our customers. It wasn't working. Our customer wanted to know what it would take to get it working. We appreciate the fact that he entrusted us to do the right thing.

The question is what IS the right thing? Does it mean we should just charge him whatever it costs? Or should we tell him that the cost of repairs would be more than the radio was worth, or should we advise him to replace his radio with a new one?

The truth is that all the answers can apply. We think you should be given the information required to make an informed decision. That is why we came up with the ReNew program.

If you have been wondering whether to keep your old radio, make major repairs, or consider a new one, we think you might find this program to be of interest. We have provided a link below to an Acrobat PDF file with complete information. If you don't have an Acrobat Reader, you can download a free copy by going to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.ht ml.
